Weather Routing Inc. leads the industry in providing highly
accurate marine forecasts, precise routing advice and skilled meteorological
consulting for cargo vessels and yachts worldwide. WRI was
recently involved in a multi-million dollar downtown office
complex renovation project which allows for growth in our
ever-expanding
operations department.
WRI has provided forecasting and routing advice for commercial fleets
since 1961. Our
professional meteorologists are experienced in forecasting for all ocean basins, and strive to provide vessels with the safest and most
efficient routing possible.
Our sister company, North Country Weather,
provides forecasts for the Film and Ski Industries, in addition to
local Media weather services. NCW provides
accurate forecasts detailing weather features that include temperatures, chance of precipitation, cloud cover, wind directions and speeds
(customized for particular interests).

Typical Duties and
Responsibilities Include:
- Ship Position Data Entry
- Marine Forecast Training
- Limited Marine Forecasting
- Assistant to Meteorologist
- Miscellaneous Office Projects
- 30-40 Hours/Week
B.S. in Meteorology
required. Knowledge or experience in tropical meteorology or wind/sea/swell forecasting
is
desirable, but we are willing to train the right individual. Applicant must possess excellent communication skills and be a
motivated self-starter.
Typically, Met. Technicians have moved on to a Full-Time
Meteorologist position within a year,
receiving a full benefit package.
