Long range planning outlooks, or climatological studies, are designed for future voyages; a week, month, or
year from now. We will inform you of the weather patterns you are likely to encounter, along with the
weather conditions these patterns produce. The effects of ice, currents, fog, and tropical/extra-tropical
systems are considered. Based upon the constraints of the vessel, such as maximum wind/sea conditions the
vessel can safely handle, along with her cruising range, WRI will suggest feasible routing options.
Climate studies are available for mariners looking for the best time of year to cruise an area, or to determine
the best season to make a trans-ocean crossing. For boat shows, parties, regattas, etc., a climate study can
assist in planning what time of year to hold an event. We are flexible to your needs. WRI has worldwide
weather and climate data at its disposal, giving you the most timely and accurate studies and forecasts!
We recommend contacting us 5-7 days in advance of an event to get an idea of what weather is possible for
your area. The fee for planning outlooks is based on the time needed to research and prepare the report.

“Thanks very much for your comprehensive Climatologic Study. It was more than
I expected and certainly fulfills my needs.”
