“Thank you very much for persuading us to leave early. Your politely emphatic advice convinced us to…depart at 0600 as you advised- - - that was very good advice…."

WRI offers a number of different forecast products, whether you are crossing the Gulfstream from the Bahamas to Florida or crossing the Pacific Ocean from Los Angeles to Auckland. We tailor our forecasts to your needs. All forecasts are written in plain-language, and are easy to read and understand. In the event new information suggests a forecast should be changed or amended, the captain is notified in a timely fashion. With decades of forecasting experience, you can rest assured that there will be no surprises
ahead.
At WRI there are never any subscription fees. It is free to set-up and maintain an account for your vessel with us. Our forecast services always start and stop at your request.
REQUESTS FOR OUR SERVICES are normally made days to a week in advance at the request of the captain. To provide individualized service, tailored to your vessel, we will need particulars about your vessel - her speed, range, stability, handling, maximum acceptable winds and seas, etc.
A DETAILED PRE-SAIL BRIEFING is normally given 24 to 36 hours before a voyage commences. This briefing includes a detailed weather discussion and forecast of winds, seas, and currents (if significant), expected over the next 3-5 days. Also included is our recommended route, as well as a GO or DELAY departure recommendation.
ENROUTE VOYAGE WEATHER UPDATES are normally provided daily and include a
weather synopsis, detailed forecast and a review of the current route. Once our services begin, we maintain continuous surveillance of the voyage until safe arrival. Our meteorologists are available 24-hours a day for consultation.
WRI meteorologists are fully trained to forecast for some of the toughest weather locations around the globe. In many of these areas local forecasts are poor at best, or completely unavailable. You can rest assured that we know when bad weather is going to strike in areas such as:
Gulfs of Tehuantepec, Fonseca, Papagayo
Gulf Du Lion Mistrals
Northerly Surges in the Red Sea, Gulf Of Mexico, Baja Coast, and U.S. West Coast
Gulfstream Crossings
Aegean Sea Etesian
Cote D’Azur
Ocean Crossings
The Caribbean
Never be caught off-guard by these and other large scale weather events again. Use WRI’s team of meteorologists for a worry free trip every time!
“I would certainly like to thank the TEAM at WRI very much for the assistance given to us, you have done certainly a great job and have been more than useful with your forecasts during the crossing…”
