WRI offers Tropical Surveillance to our CURRENT CLIENTS of
yachts or chartering parties. During tropical season, you will be
kept well informed of all tropical features through WRI produced Tropical
Summaries. These summaries are produced at least once
per day (more often if significant changes occur) and are
automatically emailed to clients who are currently receiving our
services, or a present SeaWeather
subscriber.
SeaWeather is our latest
supplemental online weather service located at http://www.seaweather.net.
Captains in certain locations, are finding this website to be a
useful guide, in order to view a wide variety of different weather
maps. There are three packages offered in SeaWeather: Lite,
Basic, and Premium.
By clicking the "Sign up now" link on the left hand side
of the home page, you will be able to view the "tools",
and price offered in each package. Please note that Basic
and Premium subscribers are
eligible to receive daily Tropical
Summaries for the length of their subscription, or when
the Tropical Season begins.
In addition, should a system or disturbance threaten your
general area within 5 days, WRI's Tropical
Alert System will notify the affected parties with a
specific warning, via email. WRI is often 24-36 hours ahead of
governmental organizations in finding, naming, and tracking
tropical systems. To receive caution
alerts 5 days in advance, and then warnings
3 days in advance, is very beneficial for planning purposes.
It could be the difference between a safe harbor, or a devastating
loss. WRI does not play politics as many governmental
organizations do when naming and tracking systems. You will know
exactly what our forecasters are thinking and forecast with no
bias.
Tropical Surveillance clients are required to have a valid
email address. All vessels on Tropical Surveillance are strongly
encouraged to advise any change to vessel locations. This prevents
our threat detection system from sending out false warnings to
vessels that are not threatened.
At any time, if you need a more specific forecast or routing
advice, you may request a verbal or written forecast. Our normal
forecast charges will apply.
